A Dense Fog Advisory has been issued for most of northeast Illinois, and the National Weather Service is warning motorists of potentially hazardous travel conditions.
The Advisory takes effect immediately, and will expire at noon Monday for McHenry, Lake, DeKalb, Kane, DuPage, Cook, LaSalle, Kendall, Grundy, and Will counties.
The NWS also says that freezing fog is possible in the area, which could snarl traffic and make for slick travel conditions on Monday morning. Bridges and overpasses will be impacted, as will untreated sidewalks.
Visibility could drop below a quarter mile because of the fog.
