2 Bodies Found in Townhome Under Construction in Lockport Subdivision

Two bodies were discovered in a townhome under construction in a new southwest suburban subdivision on Tuesday morning, according to police, who are calling the deaths a double homicide.

Around 6:27 a.m., a construction foreman arrived at the site in the 16100 block of Coneflower Drive of the Sagebrooks subdivision in Lockport, authorities said.

The foreman found two men unresponsive, according to the Lockport Police Department, and called paramedics, who pronounced the men dead at the scene.

The Will County Coroner's office confirmed the deaths, but did not release further information about the two men. Police later identified them as construction workers.

"This is the onset of a criminal investigation where two men lost their lives," said Lockport Police Chief Terry Lemming, calling the discovery "an isolated incident" and adding that "there is no reason to believe the community is in danger."
