Dan Hampton Makes Bold Claim About Jay Cutler

When football Hall of Famers made bold statements about former Chicago Bears quarterback Jay Cutler, they are usually insults. Bears legend Dan Hampton went in a much different direction.

Speaking at the Pro Football Hall of Fame on Saturday, Hampton was discussing his time with the legendary 1985 Bears, who won Super Bowl XX over the New England Patriots.

The team, arguably one of the most talented ever assembled, only won a single championship, but Hampton says that would have been different had Cutler been under center instead of Jim McMahon:

You read that correctly. Hampton says that if Cutler was the quarterback for the 1985 Bears, they would have run off four Super Bowl championships.

Cutler, who holds a host of Bears records including most passing yards and most touchdowns, didn't exactly light the world on fire when he played in the postseason, winning just one game and throwing for 354 yards and a pair of touchdowns in two contests.
