The South Loop home near Central Station that former Mayor Richard Daley and his late wife in 1993 has been sold, but the mayor will likely be back for visits.
Daley sold the home to his daughter, Nora, in September, according to Daley spokeswoman Jackie Heard.
The former mayor and his wife purchased the home for about $400,000. Nora Daley and her husband, Sean Conroy, purchased it for $750,000, according to a report on CBSChicago.com.
There were reports the home was put on the market in May 2011, though it was never listed publicly.
The neighborhood has changed quite a bit since 1993, when Daley moved from his Bridgeport home on South Emerald Avenue where he was raised. Daley said he moved to the area to support the growing neighborhood and Near South Side, which now bustles with condos and commerce.
In 2004, the Daleys looked for a new condo downtown and reportedly considered the Heritage at Millennium Park, with condos priced between $700,000 and $2.8 million. At that time they said they would continue to live at Central Station.
Maggie Daley died nearly a year ago after a battle with cancer.
