The Chicago Bears have been dealing with serious injury concerns ever since they opened training camp this summer, and the bad times continued to roll Wednesday as several key players missed the team’s practice.

The big names on the list of absent players are of course quarterback Jay Cutler, who injured his hamstring in Sunday’s loss to the Arizona Cardinals, and Alshon Jeffery, who missed that game due to injury. Cutler has reportedly been ruled out for the next two weeks, with Jimmy Clausen slated to start at quarterback in his absence, but head coach John Fox declined to give a timetable for Cutler’s return and also refused to rule him out for Sunday’s game.

As for Jeffery, he missed most of training camp and the preseason with a calf issue, but a hamstring issue popped up during the Bears’ practices last week, forcing him into missing the game and leading to his latest absence from the field.

The Bears were also without wide receiver Eddie Royal on Wednesday, as he deals with back and hip injuries. Royal has played in each of the Bears’ first two games, but he too missed a good amount of time in preseason due to injuries.

There were also several notable players who were limited in Wednesday’s workout, including running back Matt Forte, who is dealing with a knee issue. Defensive end Ego Ferguson, who missed Sunday’s game, was also limited with a knee ailment, and Marquess Wilson, Matt Slauson, Pernell McPhee, and Tracy Porter were all limited during the team’s workouts.

The Bears will be looking to get as many players back on the field as they can for Sunday’s game, as they take on the two-time defending NFC Champion Seattle Seahawks up in the Pacific Northwest.
