Cubs, White Sox Unveil Incredible ‘Players Weekend' Jerseys

Major League Baseball will host its first ever “Player’s Weekend” at the end of August, and on Wednesday the league revealed the colorful jerseys that teams will wear for the event.

The jerseys, which will feature players’ nicknames instead of their traditional last names, will be worn by all 30 teams on Aug. 25-27, and there are some truly spectacular designs that will be sported on diamonds across America:

The Cubs, who will be on the road in Philadelphia when they wear their jerseys, went with an 80’s inspired look, from the dark blue primary color on the road jersey to the Cubbie bear logo on their hat. They also went with some pretty interesting nicknames:

Meanwhile the White Sox, who will host the Detroit Tigers for Player’s Weekend, put an interesting spin onto their 80’s inspired logo, going with a black jersey with red trim:

The jerseys are on sale now, along with hats and t-shirts marking the special event.
