CTA Red Line Trains Briefly Rerouted Due to Power Outage

Northbound CTA Red Line trains are back on their proper tracks after briefly being diverted to the elevated lines between Cermak and Fullerton due to a power outage.

The outage occurred on Thursday afternoon, but was resolved by the CTA just before 3 p.m.

Trains moving between Fullerton and Cermak/Chinatown were rerouted onto elevated tracks while service was restored to the underground tracks, according to the agency.

Southbound service was not affected.
