CTA Red Line Service Impacted at Addison Stop by Construction

Service will be stopped from March 8 to 10, and will be altered from March 11 to the 25th

Commuters and visitors who use the CTA Red Line could be affected by a new construction project that will shut down one of the line’s most used stations.

Beginning on Friday, the Addison Red Line station will be closed for the weekend as a construction project begins. Trains will still run through the area in both directions, but passengers will not be able to get off the train at Addison.

Beginning on March 10, riders will be able to get off southbound trains at the Addison stop, but will not be able to get on or off the trains heading northbound, the CTA announced in a press release.

That disruption will continue through March 30, according to the CTA. Beginning March 29 and ending April 1, all CTA Red Line trains will once again bypass the Addison stop as construction wraps up.

Passengers who use the Red Line and need access to the Addison stop can use the Sheridan or Belmont stops to board trains. During weekends with interrupted service, shuttle buses will be provided to take passengers from the Addison stop to the Belmont or Sheridan stop, depending on their direction of travel.
