Police have arrested five men they believe are responsible for four robberies at a Chicago Transit Authority Green Line station between March and May.
Beginning in mid-March, there were numerous robberies in and around the Cicero Avenue stop, in the 4700 block of West Lake Street. Officers said surveillance footage and interviews with victims helped ID the suspected robbers.
Raymond LeFlore, 19, Darius Nash, 17, and another boy, 16, were each charged with one count of robbery with a firearm for an incident that occurred on March 19, said police spokesman John Mirabelli.
The three men allegedly approached a 22-year-old man on the platform that evening, hit him with a handgun and stole his tote bag containing his cell phone and laptop.
Robert Harrison, 17, was charged with one count of attempted robbery and one count of robbery for two separate incidents, both in May. In the first attack, on May 15, Harrison hit a woman's face and took her iPhone, police said. Three days later he tried to use the same tactic, allegedly striking another woman's face and trying but failing to take her bag.
Joseph White, 21, has been charged with one count of robbery for an incident on May 25 in which he forcibly took a woman's iPhone out of her hand as she was talking on it outside the station.
