More magnet school African-American students passed college-level English

Here's some news that's likely to put a smile on the face of newly-appointed superintendent of Chicago Public Schools, Ron Huberman.

The Chicago Sun-Times reported today that Whitney Young Magnet High School has produced more African-American seniors who passed the college-level English Language Advanced Placement exam last year than at any other school in the world, public or private.

While exam officials say the distinction is based on only 34 kids, they still beat out similar selective-enrollment schools in New York City and Washington, D.C.
