Could This Bears Team Win a Super Bowl? Ditka Thinks So

The comments came after the Bears beat the Vikings on Sunday Night Football in Chicago

Are da Chicago Bears Super Bowl contenders? Da Coach seems to think so.

Though he may be biased for the team he once played for and later coached, Mike Ditka said this week that, barring any injuries, the Bears “have the talent to go on to the Super Bowl and win it.”

“I look at this team and I look at the Saints and these are the two best teams I’ve watched this year,” he told TMZ in an interview.

The comments came after the Bears beat the Vikings on Sunday Night Football in Chicago.

In that game, however, quarterback Mitch Trubisky suffered a shoulder injury and his status for the team’s Thanksgiving Day matchup against the Lions remains unclear.

Not to mention the 7-3 Bears still have to face off against the 10-1 Rams and have a number of challenging games ahead of them, including another matchup against the Vikings.

Though Ditka seemed to be all in for his beloved Chicago team, he stopped short of comparing this season’s defense, which he called “tenacious,” to his 1985 team.

“They’re as effective as our defense was,” he said, but comparing the two would be “a little far-fetched.”

Still, he had one message to fans who remain cautiously optimistic about this 2018 team.

“People who say it’s fool’s gold I mean what’s it going to take?” Ditka said in the interview.
