Cook County Jail Officer Arrested for Sexual Relationship With Inmate

Lotish Myers, 47, was charged with a felony for sexual misconduct

A correctional officer at the Cook County Jail was arrested Wednesday after an investigation shed light on a sexual relationship deemed inappropriate between the officer and an inmate.

Lotisha Myers, 47, who had worked with the Cook County Sheriff's Office since 2003, is accused of engaging in sexual misconduct with a male inmate. She resigned from her position shortly after she was arrested Wednesday night.

Internal investigators from the sheriff's office became aware of a relationship between Myers and the inmate on Feb. 4. and started an investigation. The inmate is housed in Division II, which has minimum and medium security cells for men.

Myers was charged with a felony for sexual misconduct. She appeared in bond court Thursday and received an I-bond.
