Another death was deemed cold-related on Wednesday

The Cook County Medical Examiner’s Office has ruled that a 61-year-old man died of cold exposure on Wednesday, the fifth cold-related death of the season thus far.

The man was found in the 1200 block of East 142nd Street in Dolton, according to authorities. The man was pronounced dead at the scene, and his cause of death was cold exposure with hypertensive arteriosclerotic cardiovascular disease as a contributing factor.

On Wednesday, the area’s fourth cold-related death was reported after a 50-year-old man was found dead in the 6900 block of South Kedzie Avenue in Chicago. That man’s death was ruled an accident by authorities.
