Connor Murphy Activated From Injured Reserve by Blackhawks

Murphy has missed 10 games with a groin injury

The Chicago Blackhawks will get a boost to their defensive corps on Saturday evening as Connor Murphy has officially been activated from long-term injured reserve.

Murphy has been out of the team's lineup since Oct. 22 as he's battled a groin injury. After his activation, he will return to the team’s lineup Saturday when they take on the Nashville Predators at Bridgestone Arena.

Murphy has 11 shots on goal in six games played so far this season.

Slater Koekkoek will be a healthy scratch on the blue line for the Blackhawks, who have won three of their last four games and have gotten seven out of eight possible points in those contests.

The Blackhawks made a roster move earlier in the week as a precursor to the return of Murphy, sending defenseman Adam Boqvist back to the AHL’s Rockford IceHogs. Boqvist, the team’s 2018 first round draft pick, scored a goal in six games with the Blackhawks.
