    Community Alert Issued After Series of West Side Burglaries

    Chicago police have issued a warning to the public after a series of robberies that occurred on the city’s West Side.

    The robberies have taken place in the city’s West Humboldt Park and West Garfield Park neighborhoods over the last week, according to a community alert issued by police.

    In the robberies, a person has entered a person’s building and has stolen items before fleeing the scene.

    The robberies have occurred:

    • 4700 block of West Chicago, between Feb. 2 and 4
    • 4200 block of West Iowa, Feb. 3 between 6:00 p.m. and 6:30 a.m.
    • 900 block of North Kedvale, Feb. 6 between 7 a.m. and 8:45 a.m.
    • 4700 block of West Erie, between Feb. 7 and 9

    Police were unable to provide a description of the thief, but say that anyone with information should contact Area North Detectives at 312-744-8263.
