A Cook County judge on Wednesday set bail at $175,000 for a northwest suburban priest brought up on child pornography charges.
Clovis Vilchez-Parra, 34, an associate pastor at the Mission San Juan Diego Catholic Church in Arlington Heights, was charged with reproduction of child pornography and possession of child pornography, according to a statement from the Cook County State’s Attorney’s Office.
Vilchez-Parra was arrested Monday at a residence owned by the Archdiocese of Chicago after Palatine police officers, working with the Bartlett Police Department and a Cook County task force, executed a search warrant on the property.
In a statement, investigators said they seized a laptop computer and other media which contained child pornography.
Vilchez-Parra is being represented by attorney Joe Roddy of Chicago.
