New Revolution Brewing Beer Celebrates Chance the Snapper

The unique brew contains pineapple and coconut

Chance the Snapper – the elusive alligator that captivated the city – is being honored with a new beer.

“Humboldt Gator” is on tap starting Wednesday at Revolution Brewing, located at 3340 N. Kedzie Ave., in the city’s Logan Square neighborhood.

The brew is made of pineapple, coconut and Wit beer. Revolution Brewing believes the drink “speaks to Chance’s chaotic tropical spirit,” according to a post on the brewery's Facebook page.

“Humboldt Gator” is available for $6 in the tap room and pub only. One dollar of each purchase will go toward West Town Bikes, a non-profit organization focused on educating youth about bicycle mechanics and the advantages of cycling.

Chance the Snapper was captured on July 16 – more than 36 hours after he was first spotted in the city’s Humboldt Park Lagoon.

This is just the latest way Chicago has shown its 'gator fever.'

Frank Robb, the alligator catcher who caught Chance, threw out the first pitch at a Cubs game.

Bobbleheads of both Robb and Chance the Snapper have also been created.
