As CEO, Desiree Rogers has had to get creative to save the struggling Johnson Publishing giant. And to her credit, she's been making changes at a steady clip.
Shortly before taking on JP Morgan Chase as a minority partner (after being a family-owned business for 70 years), Rogers nabbed Mitzi Miller as Jet's new editor-in-chief. Before that Advertising Age wrote a glowing piece on Johnson's steady rebounding.
Now here's the latest: This week Johnson appointed Clarisa Wilson as president of Fashion Fair Cosmetics. For those unfamiliar, FFC is a wholly-owned subsidiary of Johnson Publishing.
Said Rogers in a statement:
We are elated to have Clarisa Wilson at the helm of Fashion Fair Cosmetics. Her remarkable track record at Carol's Daughter and L'Oreal USA is a clear indication of exciting things to come for our brand. I look forward to developing a collaborative partnership with such an industry authority and visionary.
Looks like Rogers is playing for keeps.
