Chief Keef to Undergo Drug Treatment

Rap artist Chief Keef is reportedly back in custody after failing two drug tests and is expected to appear in court to determine where he will undergo drug treatment.

A judge on Wednesday reportedly ordered Chief Keef, also known by his birth name Keith Cozart, to undergo 90 days of drug treatment the Haymarket Center on the city’s West Side after the Chicago rapper reportedly tested positive for marijuana during a random drug test, according to the Chicago Tribune.

A spokesman for the Cook County Sheriff's office confirmed Cozart is back in custody, but said he did not have information on when he would be back in court.

Sheriff’s officials reportedly delayed sending him to treatment pending clarification from the judge if Cozart should be housed in a facility that is not guarded, the Tribune reported. That clarification is reportedly expected to come during a court hearing Thursday.

Officials tested the rap artist after he pleaded guilty to a speeding ticket over the summer. Cozart was caught going 110 mph on the Edens Expressway the morning of May 27 and was put on probation for 18 months.

Cozart has faced many legal troubles this year. He was served with his second paternity suit back in June and was found in contempt of the court last month after failing to pay child support.
This also isn't the first time Cozart has been in trouble for marijuana use. He was arrested for possession in Miami Beach last August and was caught smoking at an Atlanta hotel in May.
