Chick-fil-A Offers Free Sandwiches With ‘Secret' Loyola Code

It pays to be a Rambler fan.

In honor of Loyola's appearance in the NCAA Tournament's Final Four, Chick-fil-A near the university's downtown campus is giving fans chicken sandwiches, so long as they have the "secret" code.

That code is "Sister Jean," the name of the 98-year-old Loyola men's basketball team chaplain who has risen to international stardom as her team dances through March Madness.

According to the manager at the Chick-fil-A near Loyola's campus, located at 30 E. Chicago Ave. on Chicago's Near North Side, anyone who comes in and utters that secret phrase between 10:30 a.m. and 11 p.m. Tuesday will be given a free chicken sandwich while supplies last.

The city of Chicago is buzzing over the Ramblers' run, after Loyola became just the fourth 11-seed to reach the Final Four since 1979 on Saturday in defeating Kansas State, 78-62. Prior to this year's NCAA Tournament, Loyola hadn't reached the Final Four since 1963.

The Loyola Ramblers will take on the University of Michigan Wolverines in the national semifinal on Saturday, squaring off in San Antonio at 5:09 p.m., with the game airing on TBS.
