Dog Debate: Chicago's Wiener's Circle Enters Twitter War With Pink's Hot Dogs During Cubs-Dodgers Series

The Cubs-Dodgers battle has officially become about more than just baseball, questioning the one thing Chicago fans hold sacred – hot dogs.

The latest group to join in the Chicago vs. Los Angeles debate was the city’s iconic hot dog stand the Wiener’s Circle, which poked fun at Los Angeles hot dog eatery Pink’s Hot Dogs.

Starting the dog fight on Saturday, Game 1 of the NLCS, the Wiener’s Circle tweeted, “I hope LA is better at baseball than they are at hot dogs. Sauerkraut?!? What’s next? Ketchup? @Pinkshotdogs stinks! Go Cubs! #dodgersvscubs.”

Pink’s Hot Dogs replied with a low blow for Chicago, saying, “Will @SteveBartman03 B there tonight to help us out then? He can keep #Coghlin and #Soler company. #DodgersVSCubs #GoDodgers @Dodgers @Cubs”

Not ones to let the enemy have the last word, the Wiener’s Circle kept the Twitter war going by writing “Bring In your ringers @pinkshotdogs but remember @SteveBartman03 is a @Cubs fan. Beat the @Dodgers.”

Pink’s continued their name-dropping defense by tweeting about Harrison Ford’s Pink’s and Dodgers fandom, but that was no match for Chicago.

“He conquered LA just like the @cubs will conquer the @dodgers. Cubs shot first #cubsvsdodgers,” the Wiener’s Circle tweeted.

Despite the Cubs falling down in the series 2-1, the Wiener’s Circle, like many Cubs fans, hasn’t lost faith.

“Nice of the @cubs to let the good people of LA forget their failed dreams of stardom for a night and enjoy this before our comeback,” the eatery wrote.

They even agreed to do a Pink’s-style dog if the Dodgers win “as an olive branch.”

It’s not the first time the Wiener’s Circle has taken a stance on Chicago controversies.

Earlier this year, the eatery known for serving up hot dogs with a side of sass, offered up a new menu item called “The Trump Footlong” ahead of a planned rally in the city. The hot dog, part of the restaurant’s call to “Make Wieners Great Again,” was a 3-inch Chicago-style dog for $2.69.
