Chicago Wolves Clinch Calder Cup Playoff Spot

By virtue of their 5-1 win over the Milwaukee Admirals on Saturday, the Chicago Wolves clinched an AHL playoff berth.

Left winger Brett Sterling scored his 14th goal of the season, and Wade Megan scored his 11th as the Wolves blew out the Admirals and continued their remarkable run of play on home ice this season.

The Wolves, currently in the top spot in the Central Division, have a slim one-point lead over the Manitoba Moose and Grand Rapids Griffins with just four games left to go in the regular season. They won the Central Division title last season, but were eliminated in the second round of the Calder Cup playoffs by the Griffins.

They play the Admirals on Tuesday evening, then have a pair of games against the Rockford IceHogs before they wrap up the regular season on April 15 against the Moose at Allstate Arena.

Playoff tickets are now on sale for the Wolves through their website.
