White Sox Trade Saladino, Acquire Thompson in Separate Swaps

Thompson played for the Sox before getting traded in 2015

The Chicago White Sox made a pair of transactions Thursday, acquiring outfielder Trayce Thompson from the Oakland A’s and sending Tyler Saladino to the Milwaukee Brewers.

The White Sox sent cash considerations to the A’s in the Thompson swap, and acquired cash considerations from the Brewers in exchange for Saladino.

Thompson, who was traded to the Los Angeles Dodgers by the White Sox in a 2015 deal, was recently designated for assignment by the A’s after going 1-for-7 with a run in three games.

As for Saladino, the infielder had appeared in just six games this season for the White Sox, going 2-for-8 with a double and two runs.

The White Sox will next be on the field Friday night when they welcome the defending World Series champion Houston Astros to Guaranteed Rate Field. First pitch is scheduled for 7:10 p.m.
