The Chicago White Sox optioned outfielder Charlie Tilson to Triple-A Charlotte after Thursday's game against the Kansas City Royals, the team announced in a press release.

Tilson has appeared in 54 games for the White Sox this season, hitting one home run and driving in 12 RBIs in 144 at-bats. He has posted a .229/.293/.285 slash line for the South Siders, and has stolen four bases.

No corresponding roster move has been made, and the team will announce one prior to Friday's game against the Tampa Bay Rays.
