White Sox Finalize Opening Day Roster

The Chicago White Sox have finalized their Opening Day roster, and the team had to make a few moves to get themselves ready for the season opener.

The White Sox announced Wednesday that they had placed pitcher Carlos Rodon and catcher Kevan Smith on the 10-day disabled list, and announced that they had called up left-handed pitcher Hector Santiago.

With those moves, the White Sox have 13 pitchers and 12 position players on their Opening Day roster:

Luis Avilan, Aaron Bummer, Danny Farquhar, Carson Fulmer, Lucas Giolito, Miguel Gonzalez, Gregory Infante, Nate Jones, Reynaldo Lopez, Juan Minaya, Hector Santiago, James Shields, Joakim Soria

Catchers (2):

Welington Castillo, Omar Narvaez

Infielders (6):

Jose Abreu, Tim Anderson, Matt Davidson, Yoan Moncada, Tyler Saladino, Yolmer Sanchez

Outfielders (4):

Nicky Delmonico, Adam Engel, Avisail Garcia, Leury Garcia

The White Sox will kick off the regular season against the Kansas City Royals on Thursday afternoon, with first pitch scheduled at 3:15 p.m.
