The Chicago White Sox will mark the end of an era in September as broadcaster Ken “Hawk” Harrelson takes off his headset for the last time.

Harrelson, who has been in the White Sox television booth since 1990, will call his final game as a broadcaster on Sunday, Sept. 23 as the team takes on the Chicago Cubs at Guaranteed Rate Field.

The long-time commentator announced his plans to retire last season, saying that the 2018 campaign would be his last. He has been cutting back on his schedule over the last three seasons, with Jason Benetti taking the reins alongside Steve Stone in the booth.

In the coming days, Harrelson will be joined by some White Sox greats in the booth, as Paul Konerko will call the Aug. 19 game against the Kansas City Royals with the broadcasting legend. Former White Sox catcher AJ Pierzynski will call the Sept. 2 game against the Boston Red Sox with Harrelson on a day designated “Hawk Day” by the team.
