2 Dead, at Least 10 Wounded in Shootings Across Chicago Sunday

Two people are dead and at least ten others have been wounded in shootings across the city of Chicago on Sunday.

Three people were shot just after 5:30 a.m. in the 5500 block of South Wells on Sunday morning, according to police.

The three men were sitting in a parked car when an unknown person shot at them, striking all three victims. Two of the men, both 22 years old, were pronounced dead at the scene with multiple gunshot wounds.

Another man, a 28-year-old, was taken to Stroger Hospital in critical condition after suffering multiple gunshot wounds.

No one is in custody, and police are still investigating.

Just before 9 p.m., two people were shot in the 11300 block of South Indiana, police said. The two victims were standing outside when two men walked up to the pair, and one began firing. 

A 19-year-old man was shot in the leg, arm, stomach, and neck, and was taken to Roseland in critical condition, police said. A 28-year-old man was shot in the torso and was taken to Christ Hospital in stable condition. 

Police say no one is in custody. 

In another shooting, two people were injured after a person in a grey mini-van fired shots at them. A 17-year-old girl was taken to Christ Hospital in critical condition after being shot in the arm and suffering a graze wound to her face.

A 30-year-old man, who was walking with the girl, was shot in the left foot and is in stable condition at University of Chicago.

Here are the rest of Sunday’s shootings:

  • A 20-year-old woman was walking in the 10400 block of South State Street when a person in a gold-colored sedan fired shots at her, striking her in the leg. She was taken to Roseland Hospital in stable condition, police said.
  • A 26-year-old man walked into Holy Cross Hospital with two gunshot wounds to his lower body on Sunday morning, police said. He was listed in stable condition after being transferred to Mount Sinai. The man wouldn’t tell authorities what happened. 
  • Just before 2 p.m., a 21-year-old man was standing on a sidewalk in the 7400 block of South Sangamon when he heard gunshots and felt pain in his left leg. The man was taken to University of Chicago Hospital in good condition, police said. 
  • A 19-year-old man was walking in the 8800 block of South Muskegon just before 8 p.m. when he heard gunshots. The victim was shot in the shoulder, and is in good condition at Trinity Hospital, police said. 
  • A 29-year-old woman was standing on a sidewalk in the 4700 block of South Ada when a man got out of a white Ford Focus and began firing shots at her, striking her in the leg. She was taken to Stroger Hospital in stable condition, police said.
