At Least 7 Wounded in Shootings Across Chicago

Three of the victims were in critical condition

At least seven people have been wounded, three critically, in shootings across the city of Chicago on Saturday.

A 36-year-old man is in critical condition and another man is in serious condition after they were shot multiple times in the 1400 block of South Millard on Saturday morning.

According to police, two men approached the victims just before 1:30 a.m. and opened fire. One of the men was shot nine times, and was taken to Mount Sinai Hospital in critical condition.

The other man was shot in the leg three times, and was taken to Mount Sinai in serious condition. No one is in custody, and police are still investigating.

About 10 minutes later, another man was shot in the 200 block of West 95th Street, police said. The 41-year-old victim was sitting inside of a crashed vehicle when police discovered him, and he was taken to Christ Hospital in critical condition with a gunshot wound to his head.

A 47-year-old man was shot multiple times in the legs and neck at approximately 6:22 a.m. Saturday morning, police said.

The shooting, which occurred in the 5400 block of West Chicago, happened when the man walked into an establishment and another man opened fire. The victim was taken to Mount Sinai Hospital in critical condition, according to police.

Here are the rest of Saturday’s shootings:

  • A 62-year-old man was shot in the right knee in the 2700 block of West 25th Street just before 4:30 p.m., police said. The man was barbecuing in front of a home when a person opened fire with a semi-automatic handgun, striking the victim. He was taken to the hospital in good condition.
  • A 25-year-old man was standing on a sidewalk in the 3200 block of West 55th Street when he heard shots and felt pain in his arm. He was taken to Mount Sinai in good condition after the shooting, police said.
  • In the 4300 block of South Cottage Grove Avenue at approximately 7:02 p.m., a 20-year-old man was standing on a sidewalk when he heard shots and felt pain in his groin area. The man was taken to Mercy Hospital in stable condition, police said.
