At Least 1 Killed, 2 Injured in Chicago Weekend Shootings

In one incident, a 27-year-old man died after being shot on South Aberdeen

At least one person has died, and two others have sustained injuries in shootings so far across the city of Chicago this weekend, police said.

In the only deadly shooting as of Saturday evening, a 27-year-old man died after someone shot him at approximately 2:43 p.m. in the 9100 block of South Aberdeen, police said. The victim was shot in the back and right leg while traveling in a vehicle. He then got into another vehicle, and was taken to Little Company of Mary Hospital where he was pronounced dead.

Here are the other shootings that have happened as of Saturday evening:

Saturday -

  • A 31-year-old man was shot while standing in the hallway of an apartment building at approximately 12:24 a.m. in the 5400 block of West Parker Avenue, according to police. The victim was taken to Advocate Illinois Masonic Medical Center with a gunshot wound to the right leg, and was listed in stable condition.
  • In the 10100 block of South Calumet at approximately 2:54 a.m., a 40-year-old man was shot while standing on a sidewalk. The victim went to the University of Chicago Medical Center in critical condition with a gunshot wound to the abdomen.
