Two people are dead and at least 11 others have been wounded in shootings across the city of Chicago on Sunday.
Four of the shootings occurred within 30 minutes of one another in different parts of the city. In the first shooting, two men were standing on the street in the 6400 block of South Bell at approximately 2:38 a.m. when a person in a light-colored SUV opened fire, striking both men.
A 40-year-old man was shot in the head, and was taken to Advocate Christ Medical Center, where he was later pronounced dead. A 38-year-old man was also shot in the leg, and was listed in stable condition at the same hospital.
Just six minutes later, another individual was shot in another part of the city. A 32-year-old man was discovered by police lying on a sidewalk in the 2500 block of West 79th Street with a gunshot wound to his chest.
The man was taken to Christ Medical Center in critical condition, according to police.
Just before 3 a.m., another man was left in critical condition after he was shot in the abdomen in the 2200 block of North Keeler, according to police.
The man, a 25-year-old, was standing on a sidewalk when a person in a black sedan fired shots at him. No suspect is in custody.

In another shooting just before 3 a.m., a 32-year-old man was sitting in a parked car in the 5900 block of South Elizabeth when a person on foot approached and fired shots. The man was later pronounced dead at the scene.
Here are the rest of Sunday’s shootings:
- A 33-year-old man was driving in the 12100 block of South Ada at approximately 12:22 a.m. when he was shot in the left armpit. The man ultimately crashed his car into a utility pole, and was taken to Christ Hospital in stable condition, according to police.
- At approximately 4 a.m. in the 12000 block of South Doty, a 29-year-old man was walking on a sidewalk when he heard shots and felt pain in his left leg. The victim is in stable condition at West Suburban Hospital, according to authorities.
- In the 3100 block of West Wabansia, a 32-year-old man was standing in an alley at approximately 4:14 a.m. when two men walked up to him and opened fire, striking him in the back. He was taken to Stroger Hospital in stable condition, police said.
- A 27-year-old man is in stable condition after he was shot in the 6000 block of South Carpenter Street at approximately 11:36 a.m., police said. The man was shot in the thigh, and is at University of Chicago Medical Center.
- A 24-year-old man was standing in the 8100 block of South Elizabeth at approximately 2:30 p.m. when a person in a black vehicle opened fire, striking him in the knee. He was taken to the University of Chicago in stable condition, authorities said.
- In the 1100 block of South Sacramento just after 5 p.m., a 20-year-old man told police he was getting out of a car when he was shot in the leg. He was taken to Mount Sinai in good condition, police said.
- Just before 7 p.m., a 16-year-old was standing in the 5200 block of South Homan when a person in a dark colored sedan opened fire, striking him in the finger. He was taken to Holy Cross in good condition, police said.
- At 7 p.m., a 17-year-old boy was walking on a sidewalk in the 3800 block of West 62nd Street when a person in a dark colored SUV pulled up and opened fire, striking him in the shoulder. He is listed in serious condition at Christ Hospital.
