1 Dead, at Least 6 Wounded in Sunday Shootings

One person is dead and at least six others have been wounded in shootings across the city of Chicago on Sunday.

A 29-year-old man was shot and killed at approximately 4:30 a.m. in the 4600 block of South Kedzie, according to police. The man was sitting in a vehicle with a 22-year-old woman when a dark SUV pulled up and opened fire, striking both victims.

The man was taken to Mount Sinai Hospital, where he was pronounced dead. The woman was taken to Mount Sinai with a gunshot wound to her hip, and she was listed in stable condition.

Just after 3:30 p.m. in the 2800 block of South Kedzie, a 22-year-old man was standing by a vehicle when another vehicle pulled up and opened fire.

The man was struck in the chest, leg, and buttocks, and was taken to Mount Sinai in critical condition, according to police.

Here are the rest of Sunday’s shootings:

  • In the 3500 block of West 80th, two men were sitting on a front porch just before 2 a.m. when a vehicle drove by, firing shots at the men. A 29-year-old was shot in the leg and arm, and was taken to Christ Hospital in stable condition. Another man, a 26-year-old, was shot in the arm, and was also taken to Christ Hospital in stable condition.
  • A 22-year-old man was standing on a sidewalk in the 500 block of East 92nd Street at approximately 11:45 a.m. when he was shot in the left arm, police say. He was taken to Trinity Hospital in stable condition.
  • Just after noon, a 25-year-old man was sitting on a sidewalk in the 6600 block of South Green when he was shot on the right side of his body, according to authorities. The man was taken to St. Bernard Hospital in good condition.
