It’s going to be hot and possibly stormy in the Chicago area Wednesday.

A mostly sunny morning is set to give way to a breezy, yet extremely hot and humid day with a chance for isolated strong to severe possible in parts of the area.

Thunderstorms are possible during the afternoon and early evening hours, though it remains unclear where or if those storms will develop.

Should any storms form, they could become strong to severe, bringing with them a threat of large hail and damaging winds. Any such storms would likely come to an end by the evening.

Meanwhile, heat indices in the area are expected to reach into the upper-90s and possibly as high as 103 degrees. Actual air temps are predicted to rise as high as 94 degrees in some locations.

Conditions will grow less humid heading into the evening hours, however, with lows dropping into the upper-60s and low-70s.

Though a few spotty showers will be possible again Thursday, the remainder of the work week looks to stay dry.

Another chance for isolated storms returns for the weekend as highs once again reach into the 90s.
