Burst of Cold Air to Follow Snowstorm in Chicago Area

Snow showers gradually faded Monday morning, leaving behind nearly a foot in some locations

As a late-November snowstorm comes to an end Monday, the Chicago area is already looking ahead to another winter system.

But instead of snow, this time it will be cold.

Snow showers gradually faded Monday morning, leaving behind nearly a foot in some locations.

But in the hours ahead, temps will drop into the low-20s and teens, where winds will make for single digit wind chill readings.

And highs Tuesday won’t rebound much with breezy conditions and highs in the low- to mid-20s. And Tuesday night could bring another round of single-digit wind chill readings, particulaly for some of the areas hit hardest by the snow.

Temps aren’t expected to rebound until Thursday, when highs will climb into the mid- to upper-30s and into the 40s by Friday.
