12-Year-Old Boy Shot While Riding Scooter in North Lawndale

The boy was riding a scooter on the sidewalk when someone walked up and began firing shots, police said

A 12-year-old boy riding a scooter was injured in a shooting in the North Lawndale neighborhood early Sunday morning.

The boy was riding a scooter on the sidewalk at about 12:15 a.m. in the 2100 block of South Pulaski when someone walked up and fired shots, police said.

He was struck in the back and transported to Mount Sinai Hospital, where his condition stabilized, according to police.

Area Central detectives are investigating the shooting.
