Five people were shot, including one who suffered critical injuries, in the West Garfield Park neighborhood Friday evening.
The shooting incident happened just after 5 p.m. in the 4400 block of W. Maypole, according to Chicago Police News Affairs.
One victim was transported to Mount Sinai Hospital with life-threatening injuries to the back, police said. The others suffered gunshot wounds to the hand, elbow and leg.
Police did not release further information on the victims or their conditions.
