Chicago Temps Break Record

Back in September, the Farmer's Almanac predicted "clime and punishment." That didn't happen

What winter?

Back in September, the Farmer's Almanac predicted "clime and punishment" and an AccuWeather meteorologist said, "People in Chicago are going to want to move after this winter."

Chicago ended up clocking the ninth warmest winter in its history, and Wednesday temperatures broke a record set back in 1995.

And it's not technically spring yet.

Summer-like temps were accompanied Wednesday by mostly sunny conditions and mild wind. The average high for March 14 is 46 degrees, but Chicago reached 79 at O'Hare and 81 in Kankakee by 2 p.m.

How's that for an altered fate?
