The city of Naperville has been named to be one the safest cities in the country to raise a child, according to a new report.
Safewise, a company that rates home security systems, analyzed violent crime data from the most recent FBI Crime Report, along with sex offender populations, state graduation rates, and school rankings to find “The 30 Safest Cities to Raise a Child,” and suburban Naperville came in the No. 19 spot.
Two Indiana towns took the top two spots: Carmel and Fishers.
As to what stood out about Naperville, a lot had to do with the education system, according to Safewise.
“The Digital Learning Initiative (DLI) has equipped classrooms with advanced technology to aid in faster and more dynamic learning,” the report reads. “Naperville is close to implementing this technology in all K-12th grade classrooms, so the community’s students can flourish.”
Naperville has been named one of Safewise’s top five “kid friendliest” cities in the nation since 1997, the company reports.
