Chicago Sets Snowfall Record as Wintry Blast Grips Region

As of 12:30 p.m., 3.4 inches of snow has fallen at O'Hare International Airport

Monday is now officially the snowiest Veterans Day on record in Chicago, as over three inches of snow has fallen at O'Hare International Airport.

As of 12:30 p.m., 3.4 inches of snow has fallen at the airport, setting a new city record for Nov. 11.

That snowfall total shatters the old record of 1.9 inches of snow, set during a 1995 storm.

Snow is still falling at the airport, so that record could be extended even further as the day wears on.

Other areas have seen even more snow, with at least 5 inches of snow falling at the Rockford Airport. Woodstock has reported 4.3 inches of snow thus far, and Bull Valley has nearly 5 inches of snow on the ground.
