Chicago Ranked as Top School District in Illinois

New Trier and Lake Forest also checked into the top three

Thanks to what the city has called “unprecedented academic gains,” Chicago School District 299 has been named as the top school district in the state of Illinois in a new ranking.

The ranking, compiled by backgroundchecks.org, takes into account the number of students a district has, its graduation rate, teacher quality, school funding, student-to-teacher ratio, and standardized test results.

According to the ranking, the Chicago school district is on the rise thanks to academic performance that is improving faster than 96 percent of all the school districts in America.

New Trier Township High School District, long regarded as one of the top schools in the area, checks in at number two in the ranking. Lake Forest Community High School District 115, Community High School District 128 in Vernon Hills, and Adlai E. Stevenson High School District 125 in Lincolnshire round out the top five.
