Chicago Red Stars Unveil Epic 2019 Kit

The new jerseys feature a map of the CTA train system, as well as the Chicago skyline

With the Women’s World Cup approaching, the Chicago Red Stars wanted to dazzle fans with their newest jerseys, and they unveiled the new look on Sunday night in Chicago.

The Red Stars, who play in the National Women’s Soccer League, unveiled the jerseys for season ticket holders and media at an event on Sunday evening. The jerseys, called the “Elevated Kit,” pay tribute to the city of Chicago in a unique way:

The jerseys contain the entire CTA train system map, as well as the iconic Red Stars that adorn the Chicago flag and give the team its name. They also feature a depiction of the Chicago skyline to add even more Windy City flavor to the mix.

“This jersey is absolutely a pivotal moment in Red Stars history,” Owner Arnim Whisler said. “In a year with the Women’s World Cup and the players representing their countries, this breaks it down even more as a representation of Chicago.”

The Red Stars will kick off their home schedule on April 20 when they host a doubleheader with the Chicago Fire at SeatGeek Stadium in Bridgeview. The Red Stars will take on the Portland Thorns, while the Fire will battle the Colorado Rapids.
