“I Like to Study … We've Met With Stakeholders … We'll Have an Answer on That Pretty Soon.”

"I like to study ... We've met with stakeholders ... We'll have an answer on that pretty soon."

That's Pat Quinn, speaking to reporters today after signing a bill to make birth records more accessible to adopted adults.

Quinn's found himself under pressure to sign legislation that would change the way McCormick Place is run. Daley wants the change. Madigan wants the change. Quinn's been balking.

If Quinn signs the bill, he’ll lose the power to name McCormick Place’s CEO. That $185,250 a year job is one of the governor’s most powerful appointments. That loss can't sit well with Quinn, who's a big believer in executive power.
