5 Shot, 4 Fatally, on Chicago's Far South Side

Four people are dead and another is in critical condition after a shooting on Chicago's Far South Side Saturday afternoon. 

Around 12:39 p.m., officers responded to a call of five people shot in the 100 block of West 105th Street in the city's Fernwood neighborhood, according to police. 

When they arrived, they found two women in their 20s with gunshot wounds outside a residence. One was pronounced dead on the scene while the other was taken to Advocate Christ Medical Center in critical condition, according to police.

Inside the home, officers found three men, also in their 20s, with gunshot wounds. All three were pronounced dead on the scene.

A 2-year-old was also taken to Roseland Hospital for observation but was not shot, authorities said.

The Cook County Medical Examiner's office could not immediately confirm the fatalities. Further details, including the victims' identities, were not immediately available.

No one is in custody and authorities continue to investigate.
