2 Chicago Police Officers Among 3 Injured in Crash

Two Chicago police officers were among three people injured in a car crash on the city’s South Side Tuesday night.

The incident occurred shortly after 7 p.m. near the intersection of W. 67th St. and S. Racine Ave. in the Englewood neighborhood, authorities said.

Three people were taken to Northwestern Memorial Hospital after the collision involving a squad car and a sedan, according to the Chicago Fire Department.

Two were Chicago police officers, both initially listed in serious but later downgraded to good condition, fire officials and CPD spokesman Anthony Guglielmi confirmed.

The third person was listed in fair condition, authorities said.

Further details on the crash were not immediately available, and the Chicago Police Major Accidents Investigation Unit continues to investigate.
