Chicago Police Officer Revives Woman Who Collapsed at O'Hare Airport

The 21-year-old woman regained consciousness because of the chest compressions performed by the officer

A fast-acting Chicago Police officer saved the life of a 21-year-old woman who collapsed at O’Hare International Airport.

Just before 4 p.m. Sunday, the woman collapsed and lost consciousness at O’Hare, according to a news release sent by the Chicago Police Department. The officer responded immediately and began to perform CPR.

The officer, who has served CPD for 19 years, requested for an automated external defibrillator. Before the AED arrived, the woman regained consciousness because of the chest compressions performed by the officer, according to the release.

The woman, a Chicago native, was taken to a nearby hospital, treated, and released. Police did not release the name of the officer.
