Police Investigating Officer-Involved Shooting in East Garfield Park

Chicago police are investigating after an officer-involved shooting in the city’s East Garfield Park neighborhood on Wednesday afternoon.

According to police, the incident occurred in the 600 block of North Lawndale. An off-duty police officer was involved in a confrontation with an armed man. The officer fired his weapon at the suspect, striking him in the abdomen. 

The man was taken to Mount Sinai Hospital, and his condition is unknown. No officers were injured during the incident, according to authorities.
