Police: Chicago Officer Arrested, Charged With Accepting a Bribe

Chicago police announced Tuesday that one of their own had been arrested on suspicion he'd accepted a bribe to dismiss a pending criminal case.

The department's Bureau of Internal Affairs arrested the officer, who served in the Ogden District, according to a statement from police.

The officer is an 18-year veteran of the department who helps train rookie cops fresh out of the academy, the Chicago Tribune reported, citing sources.

The investigation is ongoing and no other details were released.
