Chicago Police Issue New Warning After South Side Armed Robberies

Chicago police have issued a new community alert after a series of robberies in the city's Grand Boulevard neighborhood. 

In two of the robberies, which prompted the initial alert, female victims were approached when they were standing near their vehicles by a person holding a gun. The robber then demanded property from the victims, and in one of the robberies even stole the victim’s car.

Two more robberies have since been added to the alert, including a theft from a male delivery driver, according to authorities. 

The robberies have occurred at the following locations:

  • 4000 block of South Dearborn Avenue on Dec. 14 at approximately 4:55 p.m.
  • 4000 block of South State Street on Dec. 15 at approximately 1:57 p.m.
  • 4000 block of South Federal on Dec. 15 at approximately 8:50 p.m.
  • 4000 block of South Prairie on Dec. 21 at approximately 7:58 p.m. 

The suspects are described as one to three African-American males, thought to be between 14 and 20 years of age and standing between 5-foot-4 and 5-foot-7 inches tall.
