Televisions Stolen From Chicago Businesses in Smash-and-Grab Robberies

Chicago police are issuing a community alert after a series of business robberies in the city’s Bridgeport neighborhood.

According to police, a suspect has hit three different businesses in the last three weeks, throwing an object through a window or door and then entering the property to steal television sets.

The first of the incidents occurred on Nov. 12, and the most recent one occurred in the overnight hours on Nov. 26 or 27.

The incidents occurred in:

  • 2600 block of South Halsted on Nov. 12 at 1:43 a.m.
  • 2500 block of South Archer Ave. on Nov. 24 at 2:27 a.m.
  • 3400 block of South Halsted on Nov. 26-27 bewteen 8:30 p.m. and 8:30 a.m.

The suspect in the thefts is described as a white man between the ages of 20-30, standing between 5-foot-10 and 6-feet tall and weighing between 185 and 200 pounds. The man also has a mustache, according to police.
