The Illinois Department of Corrections is searching for a parolee who escaped apprehension Monday in Chicago, the department said.
According to authorities, a parolee being apprehended at his host site escaped from agents during the afternoon. Further information on the parolee's identity or how the escape unfolded weren't immediately clear.
The department said it launched an investigation and the IDOC Apprehension Unit and U.S. Marshals Service are assisting with the search.
