Why Couldn't Chicago, Y'know, Rig the Olympics Bid?

Illinois Gov. Pat Quinn has three words for Indiana Gov. Mitch Daniels: "Hardy har har."

That was Quinn's reaction Monday to Daniels, who joked recently about what the world was coming to when Chicago "can't fix an election anymore" and win the Olympics.

Chicago lost its bid to host the 2016 Summer Games when the International Olympic Committee voted Friday to give the games to Rio de Janeiro. Chicago was eliminated in the first round of voting.

Quinn was in Copenhagen for the IOC vote, and he says Chicago and Illinois couldn't have done any better. He says the city laid out an excellent bid.

Quinn adds Rio de Janeiro had an "emotional" argument that the Olympics have never been in South America.
